Ludovic Largeau

CNRS research engineer (IR CN)

Ludovic Largeau is at the head of the C2N Materials Analysis Platform (PANAM). He manages 3 engineers.

Together, they develop knowledge and tools for structural and chemical analyzes of materials at the atomic scale as well as nanoscale optical characterizations. The platform has the latest generation equipments for X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with X-ray microanalysis, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and time-resolved cathodoluminescence (TRCL).

 

He particularly develops the XRD techniques (GIXRD, HRXRD, Pole figures, reflectivity, in-operando) and he is also a specialist of aberration corrected STEM and associated techniques for chemical analysis (high angle annular dark field HAADF, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy EDXS and energy filtered TEM EFTEM).

He has also developed the analysis of strain field by geometrical phase analysis (GPA) using high resolution STEM images, convergent beam electron diffraction CBED and phase/strain mappings by 4DSTEM. His research thematics are focused on the interface of heterosystems and nanowires of III-V, IV-IV semiconductors, graphene and crystalline oxides.
 

He was a founding member of the ANR EQUIPEX TEMPOS (2010-2022) project. He was at the head of the subproject Nanotem, the structural and chemical nano-analysis platform and he participated at the design of Nanomax, the in-situ growth platform.

He is the prime investigator of the IPCEI miTPGaN project in collaboration with XFAB.
 

He has numerous collaborations, both in France and internationally, with public and private institutions.
He has directed 2 internships and 4 thesis.
He is author and coauthor of 202 published research papers, with a h-index of 37.
